At this fundraiser local artists are invited to display their original artwork as well as prints and note cards for sale to the public. Each year we choose a different artist to be highlighted as our featured artist. Altrusa keeps a small percentage of proceeds to fund its activities.Garage Sale
Altrusans have found that when we join forces we can raise money on our own! In the past, we’ve raised over $1,000 by combining our used items and having a good old-fashioned yard sale. We had coffee, donuts and a lot fun, then donated the left over treasures to several area thrift stores and the books to local organizations. 9/17-19 Millpond fundraiser – Inyo Council for the Arts The Millpond Music Festival is a major annual fundraiser. Altrusa members staff the entrance to Millpond Park, where the festival is held. They check for festival passes as attendees enter the park. Altrusans also sell passes and camping sites as needed. The “Rubber Ducky” race was held to contribute to fundraising efforts. Tickets are sold to contestants who get numbered duckies which “swim” for First, Second and Third prizes. In 2007, the race was held during the yearly Books and Barns Jamboree. The duckies below won $500, $250 and $100 cash!Christmas Party
