Ag-Adventure at the FFA Farm (Sunland Ave, Bishop, CA) lets children meet the new baby animals. Altrusans help FFA volunteers with their fundraising bake sale. We also give away books and read with children at the event.

The annual Storytelling program was established in 1994 and is held every January. This community service project promotes literacy and the oral tradition of reading to young children. This large-scale event is held every Spring at the Tri-County Fairground and promotes literacy while at the same time raising funds and having fun. Since 1989, Altrusa has joined forces with the Hug Me Bear Program to purchase, package and distribute Teddy Bears to children and adults in high-stress situations. Bears are distributed by peace officers, firefighters, EMS workers and hospital staff.
